StartersHub US and Startupbootcamp Scale San Francisco Managing Director Cigdem Toraman has significant experience in marketing, advertising, technology, media, finance, retail, and venture capital.

She has consistently played leading roles in her career of 30 years, which include building the electronic trading system for Istanbul Stock Exchange (Borsa Istanbul) in early 1990s, managing all of the research and development activities of Karma International in the second half of 1990s, ten years in Dogan Holding, (one of Turkey’s largest conglomerates) with positions including Group Director responsible for Media Sales, Marketing and Technology in Dogan Gazetecilik and later the General Manager of Dogan Online’s private shopping site.

After managing the country-wide operations of a global personalization technology company in 2012-2013, she started her own business in the e-commerce/retail sector.

Currently, Cigdem Toraman also has responsibilities as an advisor or board member to several startups (Monument, Segmentify, Asya.ai, Flixier, RydeOn, Teleporter, Wisboo, Mindhood, Knowt, Smart Mimic, Sixa, Eventbaxx, Meditopia, Thread In Motion, Poltio, Kimola). She teaches classes on marketing, e-commerce, digital and social media, business development, sales, and entrepreneurship at several universities and corporate companies.
