Meriç Bıçakcıoğlu İstanbul Bilgi Üniversitesi, Örgüt Yönetimi bölümünde doktora çalışmalarını tamamlamak üzeredir. Girişimcilik ve Örgüt sosyolojisi konularında çeşitli akademik kongrelere katılmıştır. Bazı kavramları daha derinlemesine anlamak ve gerçek hayata yansıtmak için bilim-pratik işbirliğine inanmaktadır. Bir kaç yıl öğretmenlik yaptıktan sonra İstanbul Sanayi Odası’nda çeşitli kademelerde bulunmuştur. İlk olarak uluslararası bir yeniden yapılanma projesinde uzman olarak görev almış, sonrasında Eğitim Birimi yöneticisi, Koordinatör ve danışman görevlerini sürdürmüştür.

İngiltere Nottingham Üniversitesi’ndeki Yönetim Yüksek Lisansı sonrasında Tarım alanında kendi işini kurmuştur. Öncelik üretim ve satış daha sonra ise tasarladığı bir sistemi ile yatırım projeleri için ekibi ile “Tarımsal Değerleme” çalışmaları yürütmüştür. Meriç’in girişimcilik ilgisi bu deneyiminde yaşadıklarıyla bağlantılı olarak gelişmiştir. Hali hazırda girişimcilere mentörlük yapmakta ve eğitimler vermektedir. Bir özel şirkette yarı-zamanlı yönetici olarak görev almaktadır.

Bunların yanı sıra, Sosyal Girişimcilik alanında çeşitli gruplara eğitimler ve mentörlük desteği vermektedir. Özyeğin Üniversitesi’nde “Sosyal Girişimcilik, Sosyal yenilikçilik ve Değişim”, “Yaratıcılık, Fikir Geliştirme ve Fırsat Farkındalığı” ve “İş Planı” derslerini vermektedir.

Meriç Bıçakcıoğlu is expected to defend his Phd research in 2019, which he pursues at İstanbul Bilgi University, Organization Studies department. He attended several academic conferences on entrepreneurship andorganizational sociology. He believes that a “practicescience collaboration” facilitates our grasp of certain phenomena and its projection into real life situations. Subsequent to several years as a teacher, Meriç joined the Istanbul Chamber of Industry, where he worked at various levels and titles. Initially, he worked as a team member of an international reorganization Project, then acted as manager of the training unit, became a coordinator and advisor to the Board.

After pursuing an MBA at the University of Nottingham, UK, he became an entrepreneur in the agricultural sector. He started as producer and seller, yet, turned his effort to design an “agricultural due diligence” system to support agricultural investment processes with a team of experts. His interest in entrepreneurship started with these endeavours and further on decided to share his experience as a mentor. Currently, he plans workshops, gives mentorship and training on entrepreneurship and management related topics. Meriç also works part-time as an operating advisor to an incubation and venture-building company, which has collaborative efforts in several other countries, the USA and the Netherlands among others.

Furthermore, he teaches and talks about Social Entrepreneurship at various occasions and with various interest groups, such as high schools, non-profit organizations and universities. Currently, he also acts as part-time instructor at Özyeğin University, where he delivers “Social Entrepreneurship, Social Innovation and Change”, Creativity, Ideations and Opportunity Recognition”, as well as “Business Planning.
